The visitors grabbed victory in T20I in front of a large Bangladeshi crowd defeating Windies by 19 runs in DLS at Central Broward Regional Park Stadium Turf Ground in Lauderhill, Florida in the USA as the umpires called off play after a second rain interruption.

Opener Liton Kum Das’s maiden half-century in this format with a blazing 61 off 32 balls, including six boundaries and three sixes, helped Bangladesh put up the series highest total 184 for 5 in 20 overs, while the Windies managed just 135 for 7 in 17.1 overs in reply before rain.

Opening the innings with bat, Bangladesh started coolly with their opening pair stand of 61 off 4.4 overs before Tamim Iqbal [21 off 13b; 3×4; 1×6] was caught by Kesrick Williams off opponents skipper Carlos Brathwaite.

Man of the match Liton continued batting up to 102/4 in 10.5 overs before being caught by Ashley Nurse off Kesrick Williams.

There was a phase in overs 10-11 as Mushfiqur Rahim first and then Liton were removed before skipper Shakib Al Hasan and Mahmudullah Riyad took a little time to settle down with a 44 off 5.1 overs in the 5th wicket, giving the impression that the Windies were clawing back into the contest.

A rain break after 16.3 overs, with Bangladesh on 149/5, led to a bit of a change in the flow as Mahmudullah hit three boundaries to take Bangladesh to the biggest total of the series.

Mahmudullah [32* off 20b; 4×4; 1×6] and Ariful Haque [18* off 16b; 1×4] stayed for an unbeaten 38* off 4 overs at the end 6th wicket, starting after the dismissal of Shakib on 146/5 in 16th over.

Player of the series Shakib scored a 24 off 22 balls, including two boundaries with bat and with ball got one wicket for 22 runs for the victory on the day where Mushfiq [12 off 14b; 1×4] was another double digit scorer for Bangladesh.

The talismanic all-rounder Shakib hit a 38-ball 60 and shared a 90 from 8.2 overs with Tamim in the 4th wicket of the second game for a 12-runs victory, leveling the series after a seven-wicket loss in the rain interrupted first T20I.

Keemo Paul (2/26), Carlos Brathwaite (2/32) and Kesrick Williams (1/32) shared five wickets for Windies.

Mustafizur Rahman made the first breakthrough for Bangladesh, taking Andre Fletcher on 26 in 3.5 overs and the pressure was continued as Soumya Sarkar and Shakib got the next two wickets — opener Chadwick Walton [19 off 19b; 3×4] and Marlon Samuels — at 30/2 in 4.5 overs and 32/3 in 6th over respectively.

After the Power-play the host side reached to 61/3, but big hitter Andre Russell [47 off 21b; 1×4; 6×6] was still very much there, and showing every sign of single-handedly turning the game.

Denesh Ramdin fell for an 18-ball 21 and Rovman Powell for a 20-ball 23, but Russell, in the little time between the two dismissals, sent Shakib for two sixes, and then took Mustafiz for a six and a four soon after.

Finally, Mustafiz got Russell, caught by Ariful Haque, on 135/7 in 17.1 overs and another spell of rain forced the match to be called off, finishing off the two-time world champions.

Mustafiz got three for 31 in 3.1 overs while Soumya (1/18), Shakib (1/22), Abu Hider (1/27) and Rubel Hossain (1/28) equally shared four wickets for Bangladesh.
